A week or so ago I went to Chorlton Green which isn't very far from where I
live. It's a trendy little area in South Manchester and has quite a few
interesting independent shops and cafés. One of my favourites is a little
art
gallery that specialises in using recycled materials and it has an
amazing sculpture garden at the rear of the shop. I had a lovely time photographing the garden, with the owner’s
permission of course.
The sculpture garden won a bronze prize at the RHS flower show held at
Tatton
Park in the summer, which is our version of Chelsea.
My photos don’t do the garden justice put hopefully they will give you a
feel for it.
it's hard to believe that this water fall is made out of plastic, you almost want to dip your fingers into it .
The art gallery also run a wide range of really interesting
craft
courses I would like to try my hand at lots of them but one
that has really sparked my interest is the "paper patchwork quilt" course in
June. I am going to check out places (another craft!)
Talk soon x
Oh look at those photos, your photos give a completely busy overview of the whole place and a I want to go there now. The hedgehogs arrived yesterday and they now have names and slept in their beds last night. There was much excitement from adults and children alike, I have taken lots of pictures and will post this week. Work today.... see you later. Jo x
ReplyDeleteHello Sue, Oh Wow what brilliant pictures. I wish I lived closer as this is just right up my street, and the craft classes just brilliant. I can't believe the waterfall as it looks so life like.

What a funky looking place! Brilliant. When I was at school (Stockport High School) I had a Saturday job as a waitress at the cafe at Tatton Park (we're talking many moons ago!) x
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing place, so much inspiration for the garden and so many different ideas. That waterfall and pond is stunning, I could tell that it wasn't "water" but couldn't work out what it was made of, it looks so real and yet so different at the same time. Hope that you get on the quilt course and that you like it! xx
ReplyDeleteLooks a very pretty garden - so nice to see at the moment, as mine is so wet and dismal! Roll on Spring!
ReplyDeleteWow this looks like a great place Sue and I have just drooled over all the wonderful courses they have on offer there. How I would love to attend some of them. I need to keep this in mind for a future date when I can get myself there. I can completely see why you loved it so much. Thanks for sharing this with us! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis is a fascinating place Sue, thanks for giving us a glimpse into it! Hugs, Joy x

I cant believe the water is made of plastic what a wonderful idea. I have always wanted to go to Tatton Park , you have captured the place perfectly.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a gorgeous place, thanks for a whistle stop tour.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love the creativity that surrounds us? That waterfall was very clever. I love quirky things I would have all that in my yard if I was allowed! Thanks for letting me have a peek.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this amazing place! The sculptures are so tactile - even with just the photos I wanted to run my hand over the layers of stone, to touch the 'water' - I can imagine how fun it must've been to actually be there! Keep us posted about that course, fingers crossed you get a place! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteA really beautiful montage of photos! It's the sort of place you want to spend hours in just drinking in the detail.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fascinating place! And a chance to add to your many talents with a new craft!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this garden! Just my kind of thing.
