does yarn take over your home..................

If you take a quick peek into my lounge it looks quite tidy but as you move further into the room you will begin to notice a "life form" taking over more and more space - the yarn monster!

looks tidy to me.....................

but something lurks by the side of the sofa........................

I think I need to tidy up.....................

although even messy yarn and crochet piles can look good......................

and the yarn for my new project is hiding beside another chair.

talk soon and thank you so much for continuing to call by x

  1. I don't think there's a problem with having yarn around the place, all the colours look so lovely!

  2. Looks absolutely fine to me - I love visiting friends and seeing what they are making.

  3. I know just how you feel. I keep most of my yarn in a closet in our home office, and some more in a bin next to my desk in the same room. But I always have a project in my yarn bag, which I carry around the house with me. I wish I had room for shelving or a cupboard to hide it all away in one place.

  5. Gosh Sue, I think I should post about my side of the sofa, it is awful, I even throw yarn ends, sweetie wrappers and ball bands down the side of mine. You have made me think about having a little clear up. Lovely yarn and projects on the go so who cares about the mess!! Jo x

  8. A project in every room, just in case I get stranded in there and need something to do. Then of course there are all the baskets and boxes storing said projects and all the sewing accourements one needs............and then there are the new projects waiting to be opened........OK.....my name is Susan and I am a bona fide craft monster.....:-)

  9. Oh no Sue - don't tidy away all that yummy crochet and colour - you must have it all handy around you - it adds to the 'homely' feeling of your home! When I tidy away my makings I feel so bare and the room looks unlived in.
Your pinks and mauves and purples look delicious in the blanket there - it really made my heart skip a beat then!!!

  14. Loving the blanket I can see, gorgeous colours!! Well for me I welcome this yarn monster with open arms and although he has completely taken over every living space in our house, with the exception of the kids rooms, I just love that. It brings colour and energy for me. So embrace him, don't scare him away and welcome him in everywhere! Xo

  17. I think your yarn is a nice decorative statement! :-) I am a bit jealous that you can leave it sitting around like that. Because my West Highland Terrier Fergus is such a pest I have to keep all of my yarn out of his reach.

  18. I had to laugh...because I can absolutely relate to your case ;-) I agree that it looks lovely ♥ and you have some wonderful projects on the way...

  19. Well, I think that craft supplies are a bit like rabbits - they mate when we're not looking and, before we know it, they're everywhere! So..... nobody can blame US! ;-)

  21. The side of my sofa looks exactly like this! And it's not mess or clutter, it's gorgeous balls of yarn ready to be crafted into something beautiful. Embrace the wool monster! x

  23. Very similar to my home; except my yarn and projects always have to be in a zipped bag, or covered with a t-towel, because I'm SO clumsy and can slop drinks straight down the side of the sofa, with ease!

  24. Now, THAT is the kind of thing I like lurking near my sofa for sure! I actually think it looks quite lovely to have colorful yarns around the house. It brightens things up a bit! :)
