I decided on the colour of my joining yarn and it's a lovely soft grape shade. The grannies looked so lovely stacked in piles that I became a little bit impatient and started to join some of the squares together. I still need to make an awful lot more of the granny squares but I am so pleased with how the blanket looks........................
I've started to think about the gifts I want to make for Christmas as the weeks are flying by so quickly - I have dipped into this adorable book "Baby and Toddler Knits"which I love and I've already pulled together a list of things I want to make.
I will share my list with you soon but do want some of my knits to be surprises - hope you will pop over to visit Ginny and all the other yarn alongers......................
talk soon x
I love your colour combinations Sue, your blanket is going to be so pretty :-) I've got one or to things to finish before I (hopefully) start on my Christmas makes.

Beautiful colours and the granny squares looks so nice and cozy.
ReplyDeleteHow long does it take you on average to make a blanket with granny squares? :)
I love DK books. One of my favourite publishing houses. Their craft books are always full of content, as I like to call it.
Hi Martha, thank you for your lovely comment, it's really difficult to say how long it takes as I tend to have a few projects on the go. I can crochet quite a few squares in an evening and then of course it depends on the size of the blanket. If you wanted to make a small one for snuggling on the sofa I'm sure you could make it in a few weeks. Just seen your lovely Mollie Makes post - I am very tempted xxx

Lovely colours, and the grape yarn for joining is just right! It's always nice to begin joining some of the squares together even if you have to make a lot more still......it's encouraging to see it becoming a blanket :) This one will be beautiful.
