my lovely trip - part three..........

When I packed my suitcase to visit Kate I made sure I found room for my current granny square project, as I can't go anywhere without my crochet. I also packed the felt sewing kit that I bought when I visited Soltaire, as we planned to have a sewing day. Kate was in the middle of designing some new cushions for Jake's nursery which she wanted to get finished before the new school term started.

Kate had already cut out a lovely cloud shaped cushion, and added some applique and hand embroidery. Once the sewing machine was threaded up she was ready to stitch the cushion together, she had also cut out a star cushion and two lovely little cutesy creatures.

just waiting for more stuffing and the final seam to be sewn................

such cute best bunnies - Kate designed the bunnies and scanned the drawings into her computer, then the images have been printed onto transfer paper, and finally ironed onto fabric - they look perfect, can't wait to see them finished.

I was itching to start some sewing myself so I cut out my little Russian doll craft kit...................

I think the kit has worked out really well and as I have the paper pattern now I can't wait to add some more little Russian family members.............

another day spent doing one of my favourite things in the lovely company of my daughter Kate................

talk soon x

  4. What a lovely way to spend some time with your daughter Sue and she is so talented. She clearly inherited all your crafty goodness. Those gorgeous little bunnies she designed are just so so cute, what a clever girl!! As for your russian dolls with babies, they turned out so beautifully, I think they are really sweet, and I am sure they were such fun to make. It looks like little Jake is going to have a wonderful nursery filled with all your gorgeous makes, he is one very lucky boy! xoxo
