I have continued with my freshening up theme and have now moved onto my spare bedroom which I am calling my craft room, it just happens to have a bed in it! So a very multifunctional room, my grandchildren always refer to it as Nana's blue room. I have sorted and tidied my shelves and arranged them in a more aesthetically pleasing way. I hope they will still be functional and that I won't worry about spoiling my displays. It felt more like creating art than tidying shelves.
Alex helped me put my ever growing magazine collection into magazine
files and he filed them all in date or issue order. Each file has been
labelled and I even have a miscellaneous box file. My growing collection
of buttons, fabric, yarn, washi tape and other craft materials have all
been found a home.
I'm so pleased with my bedroom, sorry craft room tidy and I'm having such fun working in it. It's so easy to find things when everything has a place. I am trying to follow the "one minute rule" don't postpone any task that can be done in less than one minute. I'm telling myself to put away that yarn, file away that pattern, put the cotton back into the sewing box - such steps only take me moments, but the cumulative impact is impressive. I wonder how long I will last with my good intentions.
(sorry my photos were a bit blurry, the light is so poor at the moment)
Talk soon x
really nice place to create in!!!

Excellent blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring
ReplyDeletewriters? I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go
for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm
completely confused .. Any suggestions? Thank you!

DeleteYou have created the perfect space for crafting, and so tidy x
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard to keep it tidy x
DeleteWow! I am envious of your Blue Room, I see we have similar things! I am persuading my husband to clear out the cellar so i can have a dedicated craft room.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get it sorted and have your own precious space x
DeleteYour craft room is so pretty Sue, I can see why you would like to spend time there creating things! Hope that your 1 minute rule goes well for you!! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy I hope I can keep up with it because it is really working x
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog; I really like yours. I see that we do some of the same crochet projects. I was asked to make a baby girl a gray cap (I noticed your gray yarn) and at first it was hard to find cotton gray yarn. I ended up putting a little pink trim on the bottom and a pink flower. Hope you're having a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your craft room Sue! So neat and tidy and all in pretty colours. Happy crafting!!

Love your room. I can't function in a messy room, I end up achieving nothing. So you will be really productive now. Jo x
ReplyDeleteFabulous craft room Sue. Yes my spare room is pretty much doing the same job, not quite as tidy as yours I will add xxx
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful organising and prettying of your craft/bedroom. I'm sure you will be even more inspired now.

There seems to be a lot of tidying and sorting in the craft rooms lately! Your space looks so bright & fresh ... love it! All the labeled jars & magazine boxes ... how nice to have a helping hand in sorting the magazines ;) I have a dark little corner in the basement for my sewing "room" and envy anyone with a room just for creating. I don't even have decent lighting from a window, which you can appreciate makes it difficult to sew. I can't wait to have a room like yours Sue. Wendy x
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,

What a gorgeous craft space ... a lovely place to while away the hours ... lucky you ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog Sue. I look forward to getting to know yout through your blog. Your craft room is lovely. I love mine and totally understand your one minute rule. It's much easier to keep a space tidy than to try and do it when it's been neglected. Where in the NW of England do you live Sue? I'm originally from Manchester but now live in Ottawa, Canada.
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS! iVE JUST MADE A PAINTING ROOM UPSTAIRS AS WELL X
ReplyDeleteYour craft room is stunning! Just what I hope to create with the beans! So much clever storage lady!!! Nicole xo
