My grey room is continuing to take shape and I love the results. I used my
crochet hearts to make some bunting and I have draped them across my mirror on
the chimney breast - I think they look lovely but I am just living with them for a
few days before I completely decide that they are in the right place..
For the first time I have grouped a number
of picture frames together and added some new art work to a bare green wall.
The art work is fairly cheap and cheerful but I love the results. When I
visited Soltaire last year I bought a couple of David Hockney postcards. I
really like the prints but they have just sat in a drawer unloved for months
but now they are instilling some beautiful colour into my new art display. I've
also added two images of Manchester which were photographed by a couple of local
artists, and lastly I have printed out some images from Pinterest and put them
in simple inexpensive frames.
Another addition to my room is a small wall unit that I stumbled upon in
TKMaxx which fits with my decor perfectly. It is very distressed (Mr R asked if
I had been paid to take it away!) I love it and now it's
on the wall it looks really great. Next job was to find some interesting curios
to fill the new shelf unit, I have been moving things around from room to room
and have managed to tastefully (hopefully) fill my new space. A year or so ago Kate
had bought some little wooden people and she asked me to crochet them some tiny clothes,
check them out over here. Kate gave me a few of the wooden people so I've searched them out and dressed them too; they look very cute on my shelves. It's
amazing how far style craft DK goes, it's almost magic, I just keep picking up the
dark and light grey yarn and before you know it I have made a few more little crochet
accessories.
I apologise again for the poor quality of my photographs, hopefully we will have some better light soon.
I've got a busy few days ahead; I'm trying hard to pace myself so that
I don't get over tired. My friend Pam is coming up from Lincolnshire tomorrow and we are going to visit Black Sheep Wool - our favourite yarn shop full of amazing bargains. I can't wait but must give
myself a very stern talking to before I go as I really don't need lots of
yarn. I know I will be sorely tempted so to keep me in check I'm going to
decide on my budget before I go. Pam is staying over night so we will have lots of time to catch up and hopefully enjoy some nice food and a few glasses of something chilled and fizzy.
I don't think I told you about my initiation into felting. I enrolled onto a
6 week course at the end of last year; I think it was during my blogging
hibernation. The felting classes were great fun and I met some really nice women
who like me are interested in all things crafty. Four of us have decided to
start our own little craft club and meet monthly. It's our first get
together on Saturday and the plan is for me to teach everyone how to crochet -
I hope I'm up to the task, keep your fingers crossed for me.
talk soon x
Your crochet hearts and other things all look really pretty and make lovely additions to your room Sue! You did a great job, it is fun changing things around a little, especially at this time of year isn't it. I hope that your new crafting club and the crochet lessons go well - you will be a great teacher I am sure. Will we get to see any of your felting from your course? It sounds very interesting. Best of luch for Saturday. xx

Your room is looking lovely and your heart garland is fab! There's nothing quite like a girly day out to buy yarn ~ but I somehow feel that you may not listen to yourself when you give yourself that stern talking to. Make sure you do it before your glass of fizz ~ lol!! Have fun :O)x
