we lost..............................

I'm feeling a bit sad as my football team, Manchester City have just lost to Liverpool. I've had butterflies in my stomach all day as it was such an important fixture, after half time when we scored two goals to equalise I really thought we were in with a chance but then Liverpool got a third. I know this isn't my usual crafty post, you are seeing another side to me today - a really deflated, sad football fan.

To cheer myself up I'm going to share some of the lovely crochet flowers I have been making which should bring a smile or maybe half a smile to my face.

I was inspired by Amy's garland and then I saw a lovely garland pattern on tangled happy I couln't resist even though I've lots of other projects on the go. I'm so pleased with how the garland has turned out, I used 4ply cotton and a lovely bright green cotton for the connecting chain, as usual I didn't stop at one and have made lots of other small flowers just for the fun of it.

I'm afraid it didn't really work but I hope my lovely flowers made you smile and think about lovely warm summer days to come.

talk soon x

  1. I'm sorry your team lost, but we're Liverpool fans in this house (sorry, hope you don't never talk to me again!) so I'm a happy bunny. I have to say I was so proud of the City players and fans with their attitude at the start and in the first half. It was a really good example of football, with the respect both sides showed! I can't talk about the second half... I got so nervous I had to go out into the garden! May the best team win and the other best team come second!

  9. I sympathise! We are an Arsenal household, and despite the win by the seat of their pants yesterday, we can see 4th place slipping away. . . . I made a little felt owl but was nowhere near as productive as you and your flowers; they are beautiful!

  11. Your flowers are so springlike Sue, and so very pretty, you've done a lovely job with them, and such a happy pastime whilst trying to get over your disappointment at the football results!
You're waiting for warm sunshine over there and we're longing for rain, everything is so very dry, so let's hope we both get our wish!
A happy week to you and do keep well! xo Joy
