I met with my felting friends for our monthly craft club and it was
Susan's turn to be hostess. We were very well looked after with some
amazing home made soup and sandwiches, plus copious cups of coffee
through out the day. The morning was spent learning a new paper folding
craft and Susan taught us how to make trees from old paperback novels. The trees would make fabulous decorations for Christmas. We decorated the top of the trees with a tiny porcelain heart that Susan's very creative daughter
had made.
After lunch we caught up with some more crochet. Susan and
Rachel made granny squares and I taught Soozi how to make hearts and a
simple flower. Have you noticed that we have a Sue, Susan and Soozi in
our small crafty group - we are going to have to change Rachel's name if
she wants to be part of our gang.
Rachel is hosting our next get together in April so watch this space................
talk soon x
What a lovely way to spend the day, and I adore the little trees, such a clever idea,

These are gorgeous! Please, please, please say they are on Pinterest. You are so right, they would be perfect for Christmas. I love this craft group idea, it would be so much fun and having someone different hosting it means there is no pressure on one person x
ReplyDeleteI've seen this link on pinterest - not sure if it has instructions though x

I love my craft group, and it looks like you love yours, too! So nice to meet up regularly, try your hands at a new project, and inspire each other! We're not all named Chrissie, Chris and Christy, though, so you've got one up on us... ;-) Cx
ReplyDeleteA fun day with fab results.
ReplyDeleteLooks great and very relaxing - I need some of that relaxing stuff - where do you get it!?? Jo x
ReplyDeleteIts so much fun getting a few friends together to do crafting isn't it. I have a group of four and we do just the same. I saw some book trees a few weeks ago for sale and the lady in the shop was kind enough to show me how to make them. Yours are very good with the decorations on top :-)
ReplyDeleteLots of crafty greatness - sounds like a fab day. Jane x
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice that your group of friends all get together to craft together. It sounds like such a fun day! Your trees turned out great, and I agree they would make a great Christmas decoration. That's weird that you're all named Susan etc ... poor Rachel!! Maybe her middle name can be of use there? Wendy x
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice thing to do together, and how encouraging when a few of you can be together sharing ideas and expertise; funny about the names isn't it! Joy x
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds as though you had a really great time Sue!! The trees are lovely with their little hearts on top they can be year round really! I can't imagine how you are going to change your friend Rachel's name into something with an S!!! At least you are next to each other in the alphabet though! xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely day Sue. I love the trees, so effective. Have a good week.
