Birthday celebrations..............

I was feeling very un-birthday like on Tuesday and a touch sorry for myself but after a few days rest I am now feeling much stronger.

My lovely family and friends have really spoilt me I have an abundance of beautiful flower, the vibrant colours and perfumes are delicious, and lots of lovely birthday gifts.

my home is full of beautiful flowers...................
just a few of my many cards - I am so lucky..................

such lovely gifts - and all so me............
Today I am going out with Barbara, we are driving over to Shrigley Hall which is in the heart of the stunning Cheshire countryside, where we have a lovely mini spa day planned.

First we are booked into the tranquil spa and health club, which (we have been reliably informed) is where you can soothe and revitalise your mind, body and soul with specialist treatments and truly relax in the indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi.

Then a spot of sumptuous lunch and hopefully a glass of fizz .........................

I will let you know tomorrow all about our day.

Round up of my week .........

It's been a few days since I last sat at my desk, life seems to have stepped up a gear. I thought I would give you a quick round up of what I have been up to. On Thursday I was invited to a ladies charity evening to help raise funds for Stockport Women's Centre. It was an opportunity to meet up with some good friends, dress up in our finery, and support a fantastic charity.

On Friday I took my dad into hospital as he was listed to have a hip replacement, the surgery was successful and he is recuperating well. Luckily the hospital is only a few miles away so I can visit him frequently and organise transport for my mum.

Saturday I was busy making small cakes for Alex's 10th birthday party, hard to believe he is so grown up.

On Sunday morning I made a big chocolate birthday cake as Vicky and Laura were bringing the children round to celebrate Alex's birthday as his party on Saturday was for big boys and girls only!

a cool dude but still loves candles!
and making a wish .................
Evenings have been spent knitting, my scarf and hat collection is growing and I will soon have hats for all of my grandchildren for Christmas.

I have a busy week ahead as dad is still in hospital and I am doing a Christmas Craft Market with Pam on Saturday, so need to get on with some little last minute gift ideas.

birthday boys ..................

The birthday party was a success we had two very happy birthday boys and the cakes were a hit.

I baked some little buns to put with Finns shark cake - which added to the shark theme

Noah's cake started out as a rectangle of sponge which I then shaped into a number one ..........

Then I cut the cake in half and added jam and butter cream .....................

Finishing off with lots more icing and a bit of piping ............................................

After the hectic party I had a couple of quiet hours on the sofa finishing my knitting projects ................

All the pieces of the little monster are made but need assembling ..................

I think he is quite cute - I hope the new baby boy will give him a cuddle .................

Hat is all ready to be gift wrapped - I thought I would add some little knitted lavender hearts as an extra treat to be wrapped up for mum .........

Nearly all knitted then I just need to fill with lavender and a little bit of stuffing ........

I think they look lovely - I'm going to knit some for me..............

Another busy but lovely family day - night night talk soon x
