pink, pink and more pink peonies..............

I love Peonies and just had to share these beautiful pink images from my garden with you. The flowers are so heavy they are breaking the plants thin stems and even though I use garden canes to offer extra support the plants are overwhelmed with the weight of the flower heads. I have jugs full of Peonies in the house and also a table in the garden overflowing with the sumptuous blooms ...........................just adorable.

Don't they look stunning - the sun is still shining.................

lets get wrapped up warm and go out for a walk ............

My dad is recovering well from his hip replacement but unfortunately due to the snow and bitter cold weather he hasn't really been up to going out. On Tuesday it was dry and not quite as cold so I picked my mum and dad up and we drove to Marple Bridge for a little wander and then some lunch.

The day was quite grey and dreary but we enjoyed our short walk. The melted snow had raised the water level in the river which runs through the village. As we walked down the hill into the village for lunch we could see the river running fast and furious under the bridge.

Some of the local stores were selling bulbs and spring flowers which added a rich splash of welcome colour to the small shop fronts. Also gave me some inspiration for a lovely bright crochet ripple blanket - sounds like another project!

flowers make me smile ..........

My mum and dad called in to see me this morning for a quick coffee and catch up. I feel very spoilt as they came bearing gifts, three beautiful little rose bushes as a special little treat. The roses have filled my house with an abundance of vibrant colour and when they finish flowering I can put them in the garden - how perfect.

all in a row - with a perfect container to catch any drips .........

such a perfect colour .............

I am so lucky - what a lovely way to start the day.

crochet coasters and more .................

My plan had been as soon as I had some free craft time I would start to crochet another doll - I started to look through my yarn stash to plan my colour scheme but I got really sidetracked and started to crochet coasters. I had seen them in Mollie Makes, they are designed by Yvonne Eijenduijn who has kindly given us the free pattern. - Yvonne writes a beautiful blog with lots of lovely inspirational ideas.
I think the coasters are beautiful and they are lovely to crochet  - I now need to buy some spray starch so that I can firm them up and start to use.
I have been using up left over bits of yarn and had great fun creating lots of little things ... just not sure what I will do with all my creations.
My inspiration has come from some of the amazing blogs I follow and many have been kind enough to share great ideas and helpful tutorials. I visited Bunny Mummy and with a little practice can now crochet - Daisy Granny Squares.
After a another late night blogathon I found Craftyiscool and a cute pattern for little monsters, what do you think!.

I think I need to hide my hooks.

One can only have so many coasters, granny square samples, and crochet flowers, I have decided to have a mini "give away" It will be a mixed bag of crochet lovelies, with some little surprises thrown in. If you are interested please leave me a comment and I will randomly select the winner on the 20th July.

my garden ..................

I'm going back to London again tomorrow so I am catching up with jobs around the house. I've
just looked out of my kitchen window and the garden looks lovely - felt I deserved a five minute wander. I thought I would take a few snaps and share some of my favourite flowers and plants with you.

I love my garden - but back indoors now finishing kitchen chores. I have a nice afternoon planned, Pam is coming over and we are giving our knitting and crochet needles a rest, as we both fancy starting a patchwork project. I will post some photos later.
